About Prism Group
One group, three companies
Prism began with a classroom in Jhenaidah in 2008. Today it trains young people, processes and sells food, and welcomes guests — three companies on one road in Jashore, built in that order and for that reason.
How it grew, in that order
Muslima Khatun and Bashir Ahmed started their first training courses in Jhenaidah in 2008, on a simple observation: young people in the region were willing to work, and employers could not find the skills they needed.
Everything that followed came out of that. Prism Agro & Food opened on Karbala Road in 2019 — a food processing business, and a place where the trade could actually be practised. The institute’s Jashore campus followed in 2020. The restaurant and convention centre opened in 2026, and gave graduates a working kitchen and dining room on the same road.
So the group was not designed on paper and then filled in. It grew one company at a time, and each one answered a question the previous one had raised.
The road so far

Accreditation by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
Registration with the National Skills Development Authority.
Prism Restaurant & Convention Centre opens; a PUM expert from the Netherlands advises on the curriculum.
What each one does
Prism Youth Development
Prism Youth Development is the social arm of the group. It carries the work the three companies cannot invoice: awareness, training and practical help for young people, women and families in and around Jashore, run by the same people who started the institute in 2008.
Where the companies teach a trade and sell a product, Youth Development works on what stands in the way of both — a marriage arranged too early, a household with no income, a disability without the equipment to live with it. The work takes six forms, and it is done in schools, in courtyards and at people’s doors.

Child marriage, polygamy, human trafficking and drug abuse, discussed where young people are.
Women and children
Awareness and life-skills training, so that a first income is within reach.
Persons with disabilities
Assistive equipment and support materials for those who need them.
COVID-19 support
Vegetables delivered to thirty families every day for thirty consecutive days.
Relief in Sylhet
Food and essential supplies for forest-dwelling and other vulnerable communities.
The people behind Prism
Muslima Khatun — managing director. She has led the training since the first course in 2008 and is still closely involved in the work with women entrepreneurs.
Bashir Ahmed — chairman. He built the relationships with employers, NGOs and government bodies on which the placement record rests.
Day to day, Md Sadek Raihan runs Prism Agro & Food.
